WGM Refresh Behavior: Is there a way to refresh the workspace components automatically instead of using refresh button to see the updated workspace contents.

WGM Refresh Behavior: Is there a way to refresh the workspace components automatically instead of using refresh button to see the updated workspace contents.

Typical user complaint: When creating a new part from within windchill workspace, we should not refresh to see the new part. (Session 1, Session 6 new part did not show up until "Refresh").

There are several actions which can be taken in commonspace or in NX that affect the data in the workspace. The UWGM is aware of some of these actions such as a checkin from NX but does not refresh. As a result the user is looking at stale data.

Request enhancement to the UWGM to address this issue.

Hi Rahul.

Do you request refreshing of the WS while creating the new part in the CAD tool or in the WS listing itself ?

I'm working on adding this capability in our near future release.

Thanks. Shmuel

In Windchill 10.2 M030, we added the implicit refresh of workspace list page after any PDM action performed from CAD tool. The workspace object list page will be refreshed after the following PDM actions from CAD tool.

  • Save to Workspace
  • New CAD Document
  • Open from Windchill
  • Update/Update All
  • Check out/Undo Check out
  • Check in

This implicit refresh is performed only when Workspace list page is active in the embedded browser in Workgroup Manager client.

This feature is supported by Creo and Workgroup Manager for CATIA V5, SolidWorks, NX, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD. Not apply to Workgroup Manager for ECAD, TDO, Mathcad, IsoDraw, Creo Illustrate, and Creo Element Direct Drafting/Modeling.
