Windchill 11 usability impacted by IE 11 Compatibility View settings

We have not experienced any issues with our current Windchill 10.2 M030 build using Internet Explorer 11 compatibility view settings through the WWGM.  However, we do experience issues using IE as the embedded browser with Windchill 11.0 and also some issues using PDMLink through IE11.  This is forcing us to try Chromium as the alternative embedded browser engine even though there are restrictions in that Java based applets fail to work.

Our business are unable to accommodate a change to our compatibility settings at a site level as the majority of our intranet sites rely on the compatibility view options being enabled.

Some of the issues we have been experiencing include the new part, new change request, etc windows rendering in document mode lower than 10 which requires a refresh on the windows to be performed in order to view all the form elements.  This only seems to occur when using the WWGM with IE11 as the embedded browser.  It does not occur when using IE11 for PDMLink.  However, PDMLink has its own issues whereby the Help Centre does not load and we are unable to launch the Cognos Query builder.  Unlike the new part/change forms, arefresh does not resolve the issues.  Please see the PTC articles below:

  • Enabling Compatibility View or Enterprise Mode in Internet Explorer is not supported with Windchill
    • The Display intranet sites in Compatibility View option in Internet Explorer’s Compatibility View settings should be disabled if the Windchill server exists in the user's intranet and the Windchill server should not be listed in the Websites you've added to Compatibility view list
    • The Tools > Enterprise Mode option in Internet Explorer should be unchecked and the Enterprise Mode "factory" indicator should not be present to the left of the address bar when navigating to the Windchill server address

Can Windchill be changed to comply with IE11's compatibility view settings?
