Windchill Boost

Why we still not use Java cache serialization/desirialization from disk during MethodServer stop/start?

It can improve Windchill start time for 20-30 sec( depend from size)

Thank you @IvanFeofilov for publishing your idea, and welcome to the Community.

However, we need more information as specified in the form you saw in the submission process. (questions below). The more details and context you give to document your idea, the better. Think about ways to educate and convince other Community members to support your idea and present your case to the product management team for consideration. For Example, here is a fairly well documented recent idea. You may also suggest a title for your idea that would facilitate its discovery: let me know and I change it for you.

Please let us know within the next two weeks.

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
2. What product & version are you currently running?
3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.
4. What is the use case for your organization?
5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?

Additionally, I invite you to check out this topic where PTC executives explain product managers' approach to customer ideas and input for product roadmaps.

How often do you restart Windchill that this is an issue?

IT will reboot my Windchill servers around 9PM when they do system maintenance, about every 3-4 weeks. Other than that we don't restart Windchill unless something needs to be changed that requires a MS restart, which is rare.

Hello,

I do restart development Windchill may be every hour, becase testing of some Java classes.

also PTC plan to support Kubernaties with auto scaling, so up time will be important.

One of worst things that I can't get FlexType remotly using Java API during debug from Eclipse.

Even using RMI I can't get instance of com.lcs.wc.flextype.WTSFlexType becouse protected constructor... very sad.
