Windchill Packages v11 should be backward compatible to v10.2. WC Packages v11 needs to be compatible with v10.2 to allow earlier adoption of the new/improved capabilities found in WC Packages available in v10.2. For organizations that use or want to use WC Packages and have more than one WC system in their business chain , it is unrealistic to expect that all WC systems will be at the same version level at the same time and assumes there aren't valid business reasons not to update some of those systems to v11. Not having this backward compatibility reduces the value of WC Packages to a business until all of their WC systems in the chain are updated to v11 and forces the business to use less encompassing, problematic transfer methods such as those based on Creo Packages.
