Windchill WGM for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling: Support of container re/load functions

Windchill WGM for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling: Support of container re/load functions

Many customers use the container concept of Modeling and Model Manager very extensively.

Here are some use cases:

-Construction aids (e.g.: Environment, Disruptive contour, ...)

-lifting products that are not included in the list of items but are necessary for transporting machines.

-CAD-models for FE analysis (simplified models)

-Construction concepts

-Tools in the fixtures (not in a list)

-channels for devices (deep lock ducts, Boring channels = > complex drilling structures)

-References to other machines

-protective fences

-noise protection booths

-Testing machine conversions for new component types

-Tools and tool plans with driving movements in the form of working levels or curves

-Positions of grippers etc. for disturbance contour construction

-auxiliary assemblies

-Simplified models that are passed on to customers

-Models for e.g. measurement technology for measurement programming

-Special installation situations

-envelope contour robot

In many cases, large amounts of data are referenced by containers. In order to be able to work effectively with containers, Modeling in conjunction with Model Manager offers the following functions and options:

  • Option for Load function, whether to load with or without containers
  • Reload ability of individual containers within the Modeling session

In real life customers always load without containers in order to achieve as short loading times as possible. In Modeling a required container is reloaded if necessary. Customers have many assemblies that can no longer be loaded with containers by default because the data is too large.

Therefore, our customers need the Container functions also with Modeling and WGM:

  • Selection at the "Add to Workspace" feature, whether with or without a container
  • Selection at Load function, whether to load with or without a container
  • Reloading ability of individual containers to the Modeling Session

We also need an option upon the publish of the viewable, to leave out the containers while publishing.

This will speed up the publishing process, reduce the size of the viewable, raise the stability
