Windchill Workgroup manager from 11.1 M020 CPS16 onwards donot support auto numbering of Drawings

In Windchill WGM 11.1 M020 CPS 14 the settings were created in such a way that when auto numbering was enabled in windchill, the CAD model and drawings which are created each will get assigned an auto generated number automatically when saved to workspace.
But later version of WGM from CPS 16 onwards this behaviour was changed since the autonumbering skips a number instead of fixing it, it got changed when a drawing is created and saved it takes the number of the model. 

But in our company we use the autogenerator as a temporary number and we have built a customisation so the number generated by windchill is temporary and at the time of check in it will be assigned the buisness required number series. 

But this is not possible from CPS 16 onwards since the auto generated number is not assigned to drawing at all. It will be good if PTC provides an option such that the behaviour of CPS 14 can also be used for the companies who need it and for Companies who needs the behaviour of CPS 16 can use it accordingly.

Should not be related to WWGM in any way - should be fully controlled by the OIR.

An easy way to test is to work in a standalone browser, not WWGM.  Create a CAD Document in a workspace in the standalone browser and observe the Numbering.

The behavior that was experienced was bug which was resolved in CPS16.  There are no plans to back out this fix as it addressed an issue reported by multiple customers.
