Windchill to accept STAAD files (.std)

Add the ability for Workgroup Manager and Windchill to accept STAAD files (.std)

How many PTC users use STAAD files? There would need to be a cost justification for writing the WGM.

Can you put the files in Windchill as documents? We do this with AutoCAD files. We put the primary content as the drawing in PDF format then add content and attach the AutoCAD native file.

We are new to Windchill and use both Autodesk products and PTC products within my company. Windchill will not accept .std (STAAD files) in a native format. The only option is to .pdf the file, which causes issues and requires another location to save things for working files during design.

Have you tried putting the STAAD native files in Windchill as secondary attachments under the Content tab?

Thanks! It did accept the file extension that way. I am testing now to see if it would work in our processes that way.
