Workitem search by PBO name/number

Hi,

Seems like there is no way we can search for workitem by pbo name or number. We would like to request this feature as our users need this ability and it is a huge limitation when it comes finding tasks quickly.

With Windchill 10.2 M030 you can expose PBO attributes on WorkItems in the Task Table using Alias attributes.  This gives you a way in the Task Table do this.

If you wanted to do this in Search with Windchill 11.0 F000 this can be accomplished using a Query Builder search as part of the Search criteria.  When you create the query from Work Item to PBO in Query Builder you can use the property to enable fields from the Query to be used as Search Criteria

Available for use with Advanced Search

Allow this report template to be selected as additional criteria when performing an Advanced Search. Note This option is not available if Use as a Join Model is selected.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks much for your response. Our use case is for search and find tasks by pbo name/number.

We explored the option of using report template with advanced search but it is causing performance issues. I believe the reason is – it is first searching for all objects by criteria specified on search screen ( has 1000’s of workitems in open state) and then applying the report criteria on top of it.

Is there any way to add the ‘subject’ to input criteria (not available in the list of dropdown values for workitem) when searching on workitem in advanced search ?
