to address archiving to specifical vaults of certain documents subtypes is not possible in windchill 10.0 M20
go on file server / archive rules / administrative domains / domain archive rules /
make new rule and select wt.document but wt.documents subtypes present are not shown/selectable
for example on a product context i have a document subtype "doc_photo" that is very heavy in number of files and i want photos of this product in separate vault.
on same product i have cad data and i want to have on separate vault (this vault is replicated on another machine because is important data)
on same product i have arbortext data (cad) and i want to have on separate vault (this vault is replicated on another machine because is important data) but regard different sector so same company but different server but same product, also i have wt.documents subtype_manual that arbortext shall use.
also i have another product context under same org that use same lifecycles but must go an separate vault.
the only way actually direct documents to certain vaults is to sort them by type and by state, but teorically to do that mut set a lot of costum lifecycle states and set each document subtype with costum lifecycle but is a nigthmare in terms of programming permissions (duplications) and lifecycles duplications, because all cad documents usually follow the same lifecycle(so same states).
to separate by doc subtype shall be very handy for data replication, for vault backup purpose.
