automatically remove attribute from layouts when removing attribute from softtype definition

When you want to remove an attribute from a certain or multiple softypes, there is first a warning that you the attribute is still being used by a number of layouts. Why can't this be done automatically, when I want to remove an attribute I now have to check all the layouts and remove the attribute from the layout?

I guess, this is the correct behaviour of the system, since its may be still used by some past objects, whose value may be of significant value. so the dual confirmation is a good idea to actually confirm that you you really want to remove.

I agree, a dual confirmation is not bad, but if you confirm the second time, it should automatically delete the attribute from the layouts as well. This is the big issue, not the second confirmation. You have to manually drag the attribute to remove it from all the layouts, at average 6 layouts ....

This is very painful for a bussiness administrator. Eager to see the futher action.

Which is even more painfull is that as long as a user did not complain about something wrong in the view, you don't know it

Biggest pain is that it automatically gets added right away. So you if you had a typo in the attribute fields (that can't be changed), you can't delete until you find all the layouts.

Windchill does not allow you to delete things that are used somewhere and so I think they have applied that same logic here, where it does not make much sense. I agree it is tedious to have to go find every layout that uses the attribute. Who cares if an attribute is on a layout if you intend to delete the attribute. I don't think it should even warn you it will remove it from the layouts, it is implied that will remove it, you are deleting it.

Oh god yes, this heavily annoys me all the time! Keep the warning popup, but maybe add some toggle button that says "Remove from layouts and delete" so you have the gut-check telling you that it is in use but you can get rid of it anyways. Having to manually search through every layout is a pain.
