suggest adding the option to allow adding Thumbnail navigation in edit view column list.
On a new object it doesn't list it because it publishes only when checked in. It doesn't publish while it's still in your workspace. And if you are making any changes to something already checked in then does it show the checked in image? If so then that could confuse some people. They could have made changes but since it doesn't publish until it's checked in then they might think the changes are not there.
You're correct - that is indeed an issue. however, i think it's a minor issue.
For those who afraid to be confused by using it - remove it from your view ...
This is a preview only for fast file open / navigation.
Most people i asked prefere to have some mistake, in this area, from time to time rather than not having the benefit of using it all the time.
Which piece of information out of the thumbnail navigator are you wanting from the workspace view? Image, where used, dependents? Clicking on the Creo view icon in the actions column can give the image and dependents fairly quickly.
i would like to have the same capabilities as in the table in search result.
I understand what you are asking for but I don't know if it can publish a file before it's checked in.
A workaround is to use the File Open dialog box. There is a Preview button that opens a windows on the dialog box that displays a model or a drawing.
i agree with your workaround. that is what we do today.
as for the thumbnail - i know that new part can't be publish.
i don't care about it. worst case you'll end up with several items in your WS without thumbnails.
who cares ???
don't punish me 100% of the time while i can enjoy the functionality 95% of the time ...
I agree with your idea. It would be nice to have it. All I was trying to do is help and give you a work around. No disrespect intended.
