When a designer checkout a model and work on it for a week without checking in but save and upload to his workspace there is no way to retrieve or collect that data if that designer cannot access the system anymore. assume that the designer get serios injury and needs to be on hospital for few weeks, an admin could access his workspace and checkin all the object so that another user can continue working on them. currently this is not possible but my customer would be really happy to have this. instead of doing undo checkout to his work, it would be nice to checkin his changes in the place of him.

It is too difficult for our customer understand what is the difference between the Name in Windchill and the name in Creo and the others. For example: - When an user create a new CAD from Creo he/she has two options, Name and Common Name. But, the "name" field in Creo is the "Number" in Windchill and the "Common Name" in Creo is the "Name" in Windchill. Also, the "File Name" will be the same as "Name" when creating in Creo. - When an user create a new CAD from Windchill he/she has all those options but with different meanings. My suggestion is that the attributes are the same in both place: Number will be number, name will be name, and have the same options that they have in Windchill when creating a new CAD in Creo as well. Thanks! Felipe da Silva

Current Behaviour: The Download Service can create CAD Parameters and fill them with system attribute values from the CAD Document or associated WTPart. Examples are "PTC_WM_VERSION" or "PTC_MODIFIED_BY". When using the WGM (for 3rd Party CAD applications), there is a set of parameters that can be configured via the Preference Manager for each CAD Application seperately - except for Creo Parametric. This means, that for WGM managed CAD Applications, there is a larger set of parameters that can be downloaded to the CAD file. Proposed behaviour: It would be very good if all the parameters which can automatically be pushed via WGM to CAD Applications could also be pushed to Creo Parametric via a simple configuration. This would be extremely helpful for the following parameters: PTC_WM_PART_NUMBER; PTC_WM_PART_NAME; PTC_WM_NAME; PTC_WM_NUMBER. Ideally, the full set of parameters listed under the "Workgoup Manager Client / Mapping System Attributes and File Properties" should be provided also for usage in Creo Parametric

In a CAD centric setup of PDMLink we have chosen to have the attributes "Filename", "Name" and "Number" in sync. CAD users coming from Creo and Pro/Intralink environment are not used to the differences of "Filename", "Number" and "Name". They usually only care about the "Filename" as this is what they need for working with Creo Parametric (Window Management and Model Tree). As soon as the three attributes get out of sync due to a Save As or Rename action the users get totally confused. Some tables in PDMLink cannot be configured to display "Filename" - they can only show "Name" or their Table Displays are not configurable at all. This is the point where wrong datasets are selected for actions. Proposed Solution: A general property to sync these three attributes, show one of them and hide the other two from the UI is needed. E.g. "Filename" is master and "Number" and "Name" are hidden. The UI for Rename and Save As should incorporate these settings and only show the "master" attribute. Currently we have to use heavy customization to ensure the synchronization during upload, check in, Save As and Rename.
