importing to workspace does not number objects. since it can be difficult during import due to references to other files the "Import as NEW" should do the nenumber as post transaction. By this all references will be correct on import. then automatically a rename with new sequence number is called. This renumbers number and names the filename accordingly.
Instead of "importing as new" a new action "importing as new number" can be added
