If you try to choose the criteria lifecycle state in Windchill detail search you get more than 70 state, but your object has just 5.
The target of Windchill should be having only that state selection that the object has what you search for.
It is not that easy, because the object could have different lifecycle template iterations, so there could also be different states. Also the there could be different lifecycle templates in different context.
I would like to see a configuration where the states per object could be set.
Or only display states that are defined as "Selectable" in the wt.lifecycle.StateRB bundle
There is a way to do this! PTC tech support dug up CS135572 which does indeed hide lifecycle states that aren't selectable from the advanced search list. From a Windchill shell:
xconfmanager -s com.ptc.windchill.enterprise.search.displayUnSelectableValue -t codebase/wt.properties -p
See CS111318 for information on how to set lifecycle states to unselectable.)
