We have a customer requirement to restrict the download functionality for Windchill Navigate users, while still allowing them to view (visualize) primary and secondary content attachments. The intent is to prevent users from downloading files, yet enable them to access and read the data through Navigate.
Currently, access control in Windchill is managed via ACL permissions. However, if download access is restricted at the ACL level, users are unable to even view or search for attachments in Windchill Navigate. This creates a functional limitation, as the customer wants their users to be able to see the content in Navigate (for example, PDFs or viewable files), but not download it.
