Are there any plans to be able to create an "ID" counter per project.  Our company has been taking DO-178 projects.  The documents in these projects can be quite large, thereby generating many ID's per document.  As it stands now, the "ID" field has the potential for becoming quite large and unreadable.

 

It would be very helpful to have a sub-id per project.

So, a second unique identifier that is an "auto-number" sort of field which you can configure by type?

So the next unique number is 1234567, but the first record in a new type would be 1234568 in the system but "TYPE-000001" or something similar in your auto-number?  The next record that gets created of that type might be 1245869, but it would be "TYPE-0000002"?

I do like the idea, but it would have to come with an existing way to assign the auto-number to all the existing project data which could prove a bit troublesome.

Thank you very much for submitting this idea. PTC Integrity R&D have reviewed this idea and we think that this idea is a good candidate for future release of Integrity. We may consider implementing this feature in future release of Integrity.
