Ability to propagate intra-document relationships using the propagate trace wizard in Integrity Lifecycle Manager

Ability to propagate intra-document relationships using the propagate trace wizard in Integrity Lifecycle Manager

When trying to propagate traces linking items inside the same document in Integrity Lifecycle Manager an error occurs:

MKS131481: Invalid trace propagation requested. One of the start segments is the same as one of the end segments.

The Propagate Traces operation does not complete.

The Wizzard should be able to handle such situations.

Hello Mathias,

Can you provide a use case scenario that clearly describes when you run into this problem? I think I know the scenario but want to be sure and I'm also interested to know what is the current workaround you are using?

Thanks

Today I ran into the same problem. I have a document where system and software requirements reside inside the same document with traces between them. After creating a branch of that document the traces are lost and it's not possible to propagate them.

Is there a workaround available?

Hi,

I have the same issue. The requirements experts use the "Is Related To / From" trace to track interdependencies of requirements on system and software level. These relationships can´t be propagated right now.

Currently I´m working on a scripted workaround but it would be better if this feature would be added to the propagate trace wizzard.
