Ability to view requirements doc structure in Modeler OSLC browser

Ability to view requirements doc structure in Modeler OSLC browser

The requirement document in ILM has requirement nodes organised in a particular order under different heading but when browsing this document in Integrity Modeler's OSLC browser, all requirements are shown in alphabetical order (a flat list). There is a strong need for a configuration so that requirements are shown as it should be based on the document structure in ILM.

Typically in a requirement and test document there are 100s of requirements and it's not practical to use them through OSLC browser without a node structure for a production environment.

Hello,

Thanks for the product idea. We agree this would be a good way for users to interact with Integrity Lifecycle Manager data and are planning for a future release. This enhancement is ID ART19-2737090, which you can use for tracking.

For now, depending on the OSLC property mapping in ILM you may be able to see the type of the item so Sections are denoted.

You may also be able to see the hierarchy (in the shortTitle in the mapping below) - the image below shows the 3rd requirement in section 1.

Hi @PatrickOllerton

Thanks for considering this idea for improving the software. Meanwhile, is it possible to map two fields in Integrity Lifecycle Manager OSLC mapping file so that we can see "Short title" and the "Text title" in the Integrity Modeler OSLC browser view?

Sincerely

Mattias

hi,

We tried to display the document structure in the Modeler OSLC browser, but ran into performance challenges with large data sets. As there could be thousands of requirements in a document, this would become very hard to for the user to work with.

In Windchill Modeler 9.6 we decided instead to provide a search function for RV&S requirements. This helps the user to locate specific items very efficiently, so we think this is a better solution in terms of usability.

If the user wants to see the document hierarchy, the best place to do that and see all information is by using the View in Native System feature and navigating to RV&S itself.

regards,

Patrick
