Access to TestResult items in the same way as to items of any other type

Access to TestResult items in the same way as to items of any other type

I'd like to have the same possibilities to access Test Result items (type included in Test Management of ALM solution) as I do have for items of any other type. E.g. I want to generate queries that generates lists of Test Result cases. I want to create charts that show me an overview which test results have passed, failed or other configured result value. I want to execute such functionalities without the need of referring to any related test session.

+1.

I don't know if this is possible with the current implementation, but for me it's strange, too, that Test Result Items are treated differently than all other items.

The reason you can't do this today is because Test Results are not an Item type.  Test Results are lighter weight objects than Items; they don't have a workflow, and they do not record changes to history.  The MKS designers did this deliberately as the Test Result is focused on pass/fail type functional testing, and the expectation was that customers could have enormous numbers of test results due to executing large test suites numerous times, for numerous product releases.

That said, I agree that it is desirable to be able to query and chart the Test Results.

Does anyone have a solution for exporting Test Case Results to excel or into a report>  I need to show test case results sorted by session ID.  We also want to  show the relationship from the results to the Project requirements and specifications.  When will PTC have a solution for displaying these like items?

Thank you very much for submitting this idea. We value your precious feedback. PTC Integrity R&D is currently investing and working on revamping our current WEB UI to give it a more modern look and feel with lot of changes. Currently there are no plans to provide any enhancements in Test Management module of ALM solution.
