Add Subproject from Archive missing

Add Subproject from Archive missing

Hello,

in relation to Integrity 10.9:

Since the 'improvement' for the view on the Subprojects in 'Add Subproject', you are no longer able to browse for subproject in the archive.

To readd dropped subprojects you have to know the exact path to this subproject and type it into the text field, because there is no browsing possible.

If you do not remember the name of the subproject (because it was renamed 2 years ago) there is no way or a complicate way of identify the possible subproject with 'view as'.

You have to make a 'view as date' on every possible project parent to find you missing subproject.

In our opinion it is a usability deterioration instead of an improvement.

Hello CM-Support dSPACE‌,

The essence of your request is correct, I'd just like to correct some terminology to prevent later misunderstanding: that there has never been an add subproject from archive gesture, however prior to Integrity Lifcecycle Manager 10.7 things operated differently.  It used to be that when adding a subproject, the user would browse the repository, while as of ILM 10.7 the view/open project browser is used instead.

Kael

Thanks CM-Support dSPACE‌ for submitting this idea. We have gone through your comments and agree (in principle) that the functional capability will be beneficial to reintroduce but in an improved way. I'm marking this for Future Consideration, wherein we'll take it up for further brainstorming before finalizing approach.

Note : Would you please confirm if your comments above are in context of 'Repository-Browsing' ?

Workaround : One can use "si locate' command to search a subproject by name (full or partial name)

Hello Siddharth,

yes, I can confirm that the missing possibility of browsing a repository (archive) is causing frustration and sometimes the subproject can not be found anymore.

Therefore I have to know the name. When I browse the archive it is more common to identify the missing subproject by cognitive experience.
