There should be functionality to configure the number of lines visible for short text fields as we have for long text fields. This should be applicable while editing content in document view as well.
Today it is possible to load Content into a Shorttext Field with <cr> or <lf> (Carriage Return / Line Break).
Loading that Data back from DB into an Item, they will be taken out. In other Words: We might get data from a Customer, and can they load into DB "as they came from Customer". Opening same info from DB, the Tool is changing the Content, having the Side-Effect that next Data Delivery from Customer will be identified as "modified to previous Data Delivery".
First expected Answer from PTC Inc.: Such Data should not be stored into a Shorttext Field. But sometimes a Customer is changing it's Tracking-Tool without informing early enough. In general the Tool RV&S should NEVER change Content.
