Display Rows in Longtext Field

 Hi Everyone,

With new ILM version 12.2.1.1 , minimum size for longtext field box is 25 and maximum is 80. Earlier in 10.9 version it was totally configurable as we can get even smaller box based on our requirement.

But now bare minimum 25 line box will come and that affect the Presentation Template because sometimes we don't need that much big box.

What you all think on this ?

This is very bad news!

I have spent so much time on so many forms to work around the constraints we have with fields and presentation.

I can't believe someone would come up with a minimum 25 lines.

Are you sure, and if so, PTC what are you thinking?

Yes i am sure on this, i already checked with Support as well to re confirm this and yes this is not something bug and set by R&D intentionally. (Might be new/updated toolbar in longtext field is a reason)

For me also the worry is sometimes we don't need that much big box and it can distort the look and feel of entire Presentation Template.

The other confusing thing is when we edit longtext field Display Rows option is still there and we can still set below 25 and it allows but it doesn't make any difference if we set below 25. 😞

Hello,

             The recent releases of Windchill RV&S - use the same HTML Rich Text Edior for both the Swing & Refreshed Web UI [no plan for old Web UI]

The HTML Editor as introduced in the Swing, needs additional space in edit mode for tool bar and menus + RMB actions.
In view mode of an item, there is no change and there is no additional space being used.
