Enable creating n² Analysis matrices

Enable creating n² Analysis matrices

In Modeler 8.3, it's not possible to create N² Analysis matrices.

I propose to enable this, by going further with the Custom Simple Matrix.

Both rows and columns should be the same: they are the action nodes of a specific activity.
The intersection is if 2 action nodes are interacting in the activity diagram of the activity i.e. if one action node sends/receives an object flow to/from the other action node.

Ideally, such a function would also include a way of sorting/grouping the activities easily based on the number of interactions, in order to ease the identification of high-interaction areas.

For reference, about the N² Analysis: https://www.burgehugheswalsh.co.uk/Uploaded/1/Documents/N2-Analysis-Tool-Draft.pdf

hi,

We have this requirement already captured - ID is ART18-15840348. Note this is also called a DSM Matrix. We are considering for a future release depending on customer interest. For now, you can create a simple DSM as follows:

  • Create a Stereotype (DSM) applied to the Dependency relationship. Define a tag for “Interface Type”, which is a enumeration with Mechanical, Electrical and Software entities.
  • Create a Custom Matrix that shows blocks mapped to blocks, with dependency relationships displayed (enumeration values displayed).
  • Generate to HTML or Excel. Can modify, highlight, cluster with Excel, but of course not able to save any changes back to the model. So it’s a very limited solution

regards,

Patrick
