Even in wireless environment, Integrity should be able to shutdown with its process killed

Even in wireless environment, Integrity should be able to shutdown with its process killed

Issue:
In a situation that IP changes during the usage, such as moving to another meeting room with your laptop PC
once closed then reopened to continue an operation in Integrity in wireless environment, we have confirmed with
PTC support that the shutdown process does not complete with necessary process killed, even when "Exit on Close" Client preference is checked.

Desired Result:
Even in a situation that IP changes with OS sleep operation in between, Integrity should kill the live process
following the "Exit on Close" Client preference setting.

@K_Yokoyama could you please provide the detailed steps followed during this operation?

We need to understand the exact procedure in order to replicate the issue.

The preperation and procedure to reproduce the issue is as follows:
[Preperation]
1. Make sure you have connection with the Integrity server via wire-less environment.
2. Start up Integrity Client and select File-> Setting menu.
3. Fill in the right connection info of "Host Name" and "Port" under
    * Integrity Client -> Connection
    * Workflow and Document -> Connection
    * Configuration Management -> Connection
    * Authorization Administration -> Connection
4. Under Integrity Client -> General, check "Exit on Close".
  Then close 'Preference Configuration' window.
5. Close Integrity Client.

[Procedure to Reproduce the issue]
6. Start up Integrity Client and do the daily operation(Import proper viewset and so on) in a wire-less environment.
7. Close your laptop in a situation where Integrity Client is still under use.
8. Move to another place where you need to connect to another wire-less access point.
9. Open your laptop and continue your work with Integrity Client after you established the wire-less LAN connection.
10. Close Integrity Client with x button.
11. Open Task Manager and you'll find Integrity Client process is still alive.

Thanks for sharing detailed steps. Could you please confirm after step 11 if client process keeps running for ever or eventually it closes after few seconds?

After step 11,  client process keeps running for ever.

You have to kill the process manually in order to start Integrity Client next time.

Thanks for the update @K_Yokoyama . Based on the information provided it does seem like a Bug in Integrity client to me. Ideally the client process should have been closed for this use case. I recommend opening a case with PTC technical support and report this issue so that PTC Integrity R&D can start looking into it further.
