Extend overview list with "your vote" & read by user

Extend overview list with "your vote" & read by user

The list (PTC Integrity) should show a user's vote.

Own vote is only visible after opening an idea.

Additionally it should be shown if a user already have read one idea.

As longer the list will become, as more difficult it is to remember which ideas have been checked before.

Yes, please!

This is the same problem as in the Discussions. Other than in most other internet forums, we do not have a "read by user" or "mark as read" indication.

This makes it very hard to follow discussions / ideas or see new ones / new comments.

So true! A real must to make this list usable.

‌This request needs to be routed to the site admin Toby Metcalf‌. We are restricted in the application to what the provider (Jive) offers.

Thanks for the head's up Derek Piette‌ -

Klaus Hoppe‌ is this the same thing? See your vote when viewing someone else's "stuff"

Looking to linked idea I agree.

That raises another question: I'd added my idea within Integrity area. How to get rid of similar/same idea within another section?
How to get notified whether it makes sense to maybe move to somewhere else?

Greets,

Klaus

Hi Klaus - I will be marking this as a duplicate and ask others to vist  PTC Community Help and vote here:

See your vote when viewing someone else's "stuff"

Please note everyone, if you click on the link above, I have opened an idea on Jive's community as it is a feature they must build.

To answer your question Klaus about where to post: if it is product specific, please open the idea within that product community.  If it is a feature Jive needs to build into their product, PTC Community help is the place.  I can always move ideas as needed.  I will always let the community know when I post something on Jive's community and encourage you to vote for the idea. One question:

From your experience, how long does it take until PTC' Program Management react onto ideas that has been raised?

Curious for the answer,

Klaus

Klaus,

Great question and I'm glad you asked this. There is no perfect answer that I can give you for how quickly it takes for ideas posted to the site and then to be incorporated into the product. This process varies based on a number of factors, some of which are corporate strategy, customer commitments, planning process, resource capacity, etc. (all of the typical areas that come into play when planning future product release versions). We are definitely looking at all of the ideas being posted and are working towards taking these ideas and determining if/when they might be included in a release (pending the factors listed earlier).

Thanks,

Derek

Dear Derek,

at the end the success of an application like ideas is based on activity of participating parties.

An example:  Ideas has been started for Integrity beginning of this year.

Till now there has been no comment from any PTC employee that looks like a comment / question / statement of PTC' Program Management, nor has any idea's state been changed.

What can be expected:  How long will the customer community use this app if there is the feeling that everything seems to be written in a kind of "Black hole" ?

Taking THIS idea  in combination with still existing idea See your vote when viewing someone else's "stuff" which has been created Dec. 3rd, 2013 (!!!)
AND STILL IN THE BEGINNING STATE  "Open for Voting"  (nearly 3 YEARS !!!), can you gibe me any argument why I should use this app?
Right it only looks like wasting  time.

Sorry, my hope that this app will be a "living" way to communicate with someone planning improvements and thus to have at least some influence onto further developments has got decreased the last months.

Kind regards,

Klaus

Good day Klaus,

I understand there is a breakdown in the process: although we have a fine collection process, the feedback loop needs to be improved.

I have been working internally to increase PTC participation from all different roles and I believe we are doing a better job there.  Thanks to the Community Champions Your New Champions - we are doing a better job identifying duplicate ideas and consolidating them; this helps with triage.  I do not have an end date to share, but I have also started meeting internally to discuss the Ideas process, its shortfalls, and benefits (for the customer and PTC).  Again, I do not have a resolution date and hate to create a false hope, but I am working on things.

Thank you for your comments; please feel free to contact me with any questions or process suggestions.

Best,

Toby

Status changed to: Archived

The Idea is being Archived since it is for the community site and not the product itself.

Thanks
