When doing any query, it would be nice to have some sort of tick box allowing to filter the results and only display the latest version of the documents returned by the query.

The latest version of ILM 11 has a filter for "item is live" which I think may meet your needs..  Or perhaps i misunderstand the request..

in ILM 10.8 there is already this filter "Item is live" or "item is versioned". It's a filter on versioned or no versioned item.

Here the user wants to see the latest versioned item (document reference) and not all the versioned item in the list of documents displayed and returned by the query.
