Now that Receptions can be created in Modeler v8.3 (thank you), it would be highly advantageous to apply them to OSDs (and maybe Activity Diagram Accept Event Actions too). When creating an Operation message in an OSD, the selection dialog shows the Operations available for the receiving role. When creating an Event message, anything goes, which isn't good modelling. It would make for quicker, more accurate and more consistent modelling if creation of Event messages operated similarly please, so that the receiving role's Receptions were shown. The processing of events is, after all the point of Receptions. Note that system engineering is far more event based than operation based, being concerned at the higher levels with interfaces and allocation of related message functionality.
Note also that the above is how some other tools (eg. Rhapsody) work.
