Layers in diagrams for Modeler

Layers in diagrams for Modeler

Hello,

Some of our diagrams are fundamental, and we want to illustrate many different functions related to the "same" diagram, but we can't show everything at the same time. Cloning the fundamental diagram for each individual function is not a good idea, as any addtion to the fundamental diagram has to be done in all the clones. In some Tools, e.g Papyrus or Visio, there is the concept of Layers. Is there any idea of implementing this in Modeler.

Hello,

We have some use cases:

1. Show only critical objects, where critical a value of an attribute.
2. Highlight all objects changed after
3. We have a product line architecture, and then we want to filter out the elements in a diagram that are used
for a specific model. At the moment we do some preprocessing of the decision set, and store the information
about included and excluded elements in attributes connected to each object. We want to be able to use
this information to just see the used objects and relationships. At the moment we can create (automatically) a
clone diagram where we delete from diagram the not used objects, but that is not so nice, as it is two diagrams.

Using a sandbox will not work, as merge back from the sandbox created by the decision set does not work. It is also not so
flexible to switch back and forth. I would of course also like to switch on two or more product models, and then see common
and different objects with some coloring 😊

1. We have a big architecture diagram, and want to show which parts are involved in which functions, e.g.
show me all flows typed by certain signal(s), e.g. how water is flowing, etc.

Marking these filtering manually is not so much value.
The layering functions should have some choice related to either removing or shading non selected parts.

Hello,

Yes, we are considering this capability for Integrity Modeler 9.3.

Hello,
Fantastic 😊 Do you have any more details about what and how.
I would like the layers to be activated based on attribute values of the objects in the diagram.

hi Even,

Integrity Modeler 9.2 is planned for next March and we will be seeking user input over the next few months.

Please explain your use case/scenario and I will capture these requirements for our consideration.

thanks!

Patrick
