I have users who have read-only access to CM projects via the "fetch revision" permission.

I need the ability to monitor and record when a file is viewed.

So I need 1) audit logging of a fetch revision action, and 2) a fetch revision event for triggers.

This idea expands on the old RFC 86281.

We will not be able implement this request, as the audit facilities log the requests made to the server that attempt to change data.  We don't have audit facilities on retrieval because these are not command operations (from the server's perspective) but instead are cache-retrieval operations.

If you (PTC) are currently not able to fullfil this idea with the given architecture, please consider changing the design.

IMHO ths is a valuable feature for a prodocut that is focussed on customers in highly regulated markets.
