In general I directly want to state, that for me that is not a product idea it is a idea to implement searching in a proper way.

 

Currently Search in new web-ui of PTC Windchill RV&S searches only the contents of a document that are loaded in the web-ui based on site paging. 

That kind of searching behavior is nothing I would expect. If I search a document I want to search the full document and not only randomly that part of the document that was already loaded in Gui.

The Refreshed Web UI as it progresses would enhance the experience to come up with a solution to this request. The aspect that needs to be kept in consideration is that when this behavior is introduced, it will be performance-intensive since the operation would have to be run on the server and the matching responses collected and rendered for the user in the browser. This is in contrast to how things work in the desktop client where all the content and information is local.

Thanks for answer your answer. By still seeing any benefits in implementing search against website paging you support our decision moving away from Windchill RV&S.

I really want to propose to you to check at your competitors how they implemented proper search in their web browser based applications. I assume there should be millions doing it better.
