Shared flag info`on in Source could be forced to recompute via CLI diagnostic command

1. Automotive industry. I'm a Windchill RV&S Administrator/Developer. Entire Project team as well as Audit.
3. Randomly in source shared members do not display the shared indicator (small hand next to the member icon) - all information can be found in ticket C16247267
4. Some files need to be shared between project and PMs and Audit has to be able to see which are shared and which are not.
5. It's a bug fix, so the value would be for th application to work properly.

However, you gave the bare minimum of information and we need more details and context to better document your idea, the better. Think about ways to educate and convince other Community members to support your idea and present your case to the product management team for consideration. Also, bear in mind that users will not have access to the support ticket you referred to.

Additionally, I invite you to check out this topic where PTC executives explain product managers' approach to customer ideas and input for product roadmaps.

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
Producer of car parts for various brands. Over 4000 Windchill RV&S users with approx. 2500 users logged at any time.

2. What version of Windchill are you currently running?

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.

We noticed that several members, while shared between projects in the Source, do not show the small icon indicating that this item was shared.

Small hand next to the member icon.

This error seems to be appearing at random, but once it happens there's nothing to be done as dropping/re-adding the member does nothing. The same goes for resharing.

After an extensive troubleshooting with PTC support we received the information that dropping the top level project and re-adding it, might solve the problem.

Since it's not a viable solution for us as dropping the entire top level project is connected to too big of a risk, we can't work with it.

We came up with an idea that CLI recalculation command could be introduced to recalculate this shared icon and in case of any troubles it could get updated.

4. What is the use case for your organization?

Project members are providing all sorts of documentation to the Source of the project they are working on.

Project managers create one project with a purpose of consolidating those scattered documents from various project into one directory that is clean and easily readable.

Without the shared icon next to shared members it creates confusion as to which members are added natively to the project and which ones are shared.

It wastes time as PMs have to check each archive manually. And also adds another possible point of failure.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
It would provide better readability, save time, provide complete information on the members and also eliminate errors.
