Test Objective/Test Session should have a filter to import test cases meeting specific criteria.

We are looking at the possibility for the test Objective/Test Session to import  test cases from test document via filter.

E.g. Import all with “Test Type” = “System Test”, and/or column "additional comments" includes Text "xyz".

Currently in Integrity test management solution the "Tests" relationship field relates a test objective to test cases and for this relationship field it is not possible to customize filters as mentioned above.

The way how we today manage Test Cases inside Test Sessions is that we put single (one or many) Test Cases or a group of Test Cases (a Heading or a whole document) into the Test Sessions "Tests" relationship.

Filtering inside the test session is then - this is right - no more possible.

Did you also considerung to filter before you put the data into the Test Session, is this an option for you?

And, is perhaps working with Test Groups an alternative option for you (they were made to cover your use case)?

Hello Mr. Eckardt,

Yes filtering the data before we put them into the test session is an option we can consider as there is no other way to do it as of now.

However what the user are looking for is a dynamic filter at the the time of adding the data itself in which case its becomes easier for them.

In our solution we are not using test groups as an artifact for test management and I don't think so it will be a feasible option.
