The tool does not allow to define the order in which variation items (variation points and variants) are presented to the user. The order is automatically generated from the OVM model and may not be altered. It would be helpful if the order could be defined separately (e.g. by an additional attribute in the model). Thus, the variation items could be presented in an order that the user perceives as logical with regard to the structure of the application domain. Additionally, rearranging the variation items would always be possible if new criteria arise.
Thanks for idea, we agree this is something that is needed and have the requirement already in our database (ID: ART15-30320761).
We will be looking to implement this in a future release, I will provide updates when we have firmer plans.
Update - this is planned for Modeler 8.5 with a high priority.
This functionality was delivered with Integrity Modeler 8.5 F000.
Variation Points and Variants have an Index property that can be used to determine the display order of these items in the Variant Selector.
