There shall be a function (button) that allows a user to easily subscribe (and unsubscribe) to notification in changes of a certain item.

 

Currently this is only possible by manipulating the "Notification Rules" for this user.

Given the scenario that a user (e.g. product owner) wants to follow 50 different items (e.g. certain defects) this leads to a  "Notification Rule" that is hardly maintainable.

Of course it is possible to write some custom tooling around it, but I think this should be part of the tool itself.
