As many of you know, we model absolutely everything in 3D. In general, all logos, trademark info, "this side up" etc. is defined as artwork in Adobe Illustrator generally. We export this to DXF and importto CAD - generally on the models, and then this shows on drawings. This is of course not parametric for artwork changes.
There is a long history on export / import formats - in the past IGES worked very well with some settings. Note: We're on WF5.
At times this leads to very long regen times - esp. when there are family tables, etc. A few designers are here now as I write this - it's taking 90 minutes to regen a simple carton.
We have experimented with various file types and approaches. "Decal" works very well but does not publish (blank where the artwork needs to be); this is unacceptable - we do all business on viewables.
Wondering howothers approach this.
PTC - With the given that people want to see full artwork on 3D models, what is recommended?
