Attribute issue while Pro/INTRALINK Migration

Attribute issue while Pro/INTRALINK Migration

We have Windchill with 'Weight' attribute (type 'Real Number'). We have Pro/INTRALINK server with attribute 'Weight' (type 'String'). There are native files (Pro/ENGINEER) in Pro/I designated with 'Weight' parameter.

While migration 'Weight' attribute cannot be mapped to 'Weight' attribute in Windchill. Therefore, we have renamed 'Weight' attribute to 'Weight1' in migration. However, while check in data back to Windchill, 'Weight' parameter (String) from native files get mapped to ‘Weight’ attribute (Real Number) and prompts error of different type.

Any suggestion on this issue will be very helpful.

You can try creating an Attribute mapping to Weight1. Go the the Type and
Attribute manager and look under EPMDocument until you find Weight1. If you
edit the attribute, in the window there should be a option to map the
Attribute to Creo, UG, etc. In the Creo line, add "Weight" and see if that
helps. It would also help to remove the "Weight (string)" from EPMDocument
Types, especially if you will not use that string type for EPMDocuments.

We have already 500 users working on existing Windchill and they are using Weight (Real Number) for CAD. Therefore, we are not able to change this mapping.

Thanks for your feedback.
