Automatic Refresh or Equivalent on Project Shares

Hey there,

I'm trying to find a way to keep shared files in ProjectLink up to date.

When files are shared to ProjectLink from a library, they have to be updated manually. So when I check-in my files, I end up having to re-create the shares or refresh the project to update the shares. It feels like I am missing something.

Is there a setting I need to change somewhere?

Best wishes,
Jered

One quick way to solve this, is to create a document in the project as a URL
content. Then, in that URL content, add in the URL from the Library
document. This way you won't ever have to update anything because the
latest will always be downloaded from every project it's added.

With the URL, I think users will need access to the Library to download the
content. Whereas with the share, adhoc acls are created in Project to give
access.

Patrick,

I believe this solution works only if the project member has access rights to the library where the component is located.

Sometimes exporting to a project is used to show part of the library to project members who should not have access to the full library ?

This is true, however one of the ways I've seen many people use the project
URLs are for project templates, where the standard documentation is
available to the user base. This is the one instance in which this is
useful. Otherwise, yes, sharing to a product shares an exact iteration, not
a reference file.
