In Supplier Management,
When Standard Part is released through New Part Request and If Part has to be revised for changes?
How do we proceed?
1. Do we use change management or New Part request to release the new revision?
2. How supplier will be notified that Standard part i.e Manufacturer part has to be modified and what modifications are needed?
Hi @TDT
If you say Standard Part from my point of view this standards should never change so you should create a new standard part and replace it in a assembly.

Hi @HelesicPetr,
Thanks for the information.
In that case, Instead of loading new supplier parts and creating a new standard part,
Do you see revising the supplier part and creating a new standard part for the revised supplier part as best practice?
Hi @TDT
I don't understand the question
You mixed two things. Supplier part that is created by some outsource company and standard part where standard means there can not be any change because it is standard.
Example: You want to manufacture screw and if you change a shape of a screw head, then it is definitely different screw with different number.

Hello @HelesicPetr,
In my initial query I have mentioned as standard part which might changed the whole context of my question.
We do release the initial version of OEM Part which has the link with supplier part using new part request.
I will use OEM Part in BOM Visualization as CAD is linked to OEM Part.
My supplier is ready to change the design.
What is the best process probably?
1. Create a new supplier part
or
2. Revise the supplier part and release it to B version which will be handled by supplier,
Then revise the OEM Part and release it through part request again?
Hi,
If Form Fit Function are same, the part can be Revised. Even if one of them changes, its a new part number for OEM and for Supplier Part.
This is important to handle the parts in stock, in Field. Because, every new part number that is created is an overhead for the company(yet ppt do that and create inefficiencies).
As in your case , its a standard part ,meaning its used in lot lot places by different companies from that supplier. Hence if FFF is intact and you do an improvement along with the supplier. I would say that keep the part number and Revise OEM part and Supplier Part. (Which one is first does not matter, as it can be considered as OEM initiated or Supplier Initiated).
Not sure if my "Gyan" helped you, but these things take shape like these in my experience.
Cheers
