CMII Baseline Report

I think I used to know. What is necessary to get the CMII Baseline
Report to display out for a top level assembly? I think it has to do
with an ECN process but not sure.

I think one of the limitations to the report is it hardcoded to use
'Released' as your controlled state. So for us where we have 'Production'
as our last controlled state, the report returns nothing.

Hey Guys,

We have also thought this out. Our plan is to either:

  1. create a change activity for each part and place all the respective documentation that change activity
    • this causes a ton of extra work for the users
  2. allow to create documents with the same number and different sub type, that's a change in the unique index.
    • You would have to create anotherlinkfor theECN/change activity that the users are allowed to mapthe "was" part(s) and the "to be"part(s)
    • That way you can sort your structure, then by part number, then by document number and arrange by document type to equal the CMII reports of the document impact matrix. Since all the documents are tied to the parts and AVL/AML parts. It is best to create the CMII reports based on separate configurations of Marketing Requirements, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply.
    • You would need some customizations to reapply the document type based on nomenclature because some users select the default.

It is really important to use Windchill attributes correctly to produce the CMII document matrix. I have updated some of the documents.

I forgot to add this slide deck which has an auto "reclassification"/retyping of WTDocuments based on the name mapping nomenclature. See slide 31. This is a quick start guide for all our users. We still have to include ECN into this slide deck but you get the foundation of how to achieve CMII reports. We also have Production state than release and we recoded it. We also have multiple negative paths to other states for affected data "CANCELLED", OBSOLETE based on effectivity timeline/lot (the state of will change after a date) and "SUPERCEDED" (also based on date effectivity to change). Windchill number is extremely important in CMII or any BOM.

That's all I have right now.

Patrick
