Version: Windchill 12.1
Use Case: I was updated the CPS patch from 12.1.2.0 to 12.1.2.11 on windows, Post running the setup.bat files the install went ahead and stuck at 28 % for almost 1 or 1.5 hrs and doing nothing? What can be done...? I have cancelled it but again it is saying the installer will abort after the Windchill Service Pack is complete. I am totally confused can someone guide what is the best way in this situation.

@avillanueva thanks for the reply. I will be mentioned what worked for me as below-
1.I have cancelled the process from the running UI. These steps didn't help as the UI was still in hanged state for long.
2. I went to the Task manger and kill relevant java.exe process and Installanywhere.exe process which killed the hanged UI.
3.Then relaunched PSI from the CPR and then the installer identified cancelled status and went ahead and proceeded further. Post that the installation is completed and now I am able to user the WC 12.
If you have a restore point that you can reset to before running the CPS update, you could try reverting to that and retrying. Is there anything in the logs that you can share that points to what it was doing when it stopped or if there was an error thrown? I assume there were no popup windows behind the main screens that were hidden right? I've seen that before where it was waiting for your input. I suspect since it was aborting, it might be trying to undo any changes is made. If you have to force quit the application, you can try rerunning it to see if it gets by the place where it stopped previously. I would be leary about trusting that it was successful since it did not install cleanly on first go.

Make sure you have restore points before and backups after applying patches and updates. Recommend also running a full suite of health checks with WinDU. Glad you were able to get by it.
