Can PDM ESSENTIALS be installed on Windows 7 for testing?
According to the PTC reference, PDM ESSENTIALS will be installed on Windows 2012 or Windows 2008.
But is it ok to install on Windows 7 to test with just a few CREO engineers without deployment?
And, is there a comparison between PDM ESSENTIAL and PDM LINK?
PDMLink allows customization by the customer. PDM Essentials is locked into PTC's structuring. I also think PDM Essentials is lacking in some of the change management stuff, but that is just off the top of my head and may be wrong.
As to OS, PDMLink is allows on Windows 7 for testing, so I would assume that PDM Essentials should work just fine. Do remember that you are dealing with a end-user OS versus a backend Server OS.
Thank BenLoosli for your kind reply.
I want to download PDM Essential, where should I find it?
On the eSupport page, only Windchill PDM LINK, INFO * Engine, Parts, Project, WorkGroupManager, and PDM Essential are not found.
Where can I find the package for installation?
You have to have a license for PDM Essentials in order to download it. Since I only have PDMLink licenses, I cannot see the PDM Essenntials download pages.
i should request license pdm essentials
WINDCHILL PDM ESSENTIALS: https://support.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/product.jsp?prodFamily=WPE
Unless you have a license for PDM Essentials, that link goes to a page with nothing to download.
This link to the future perspective.
