I am looking for information as to how other companies handle COTS & Nationally Recognized Standard Componet itemsthat most companies do not develop drawings for.
We use ProE, misc 2-d CAD systems along with PDM 9.0. We are looking for options to replace an existing homegrown database with that only contains our part number, manifacturer part number and description. We do not plan on creating drawings for these items, especially the Nat'l Recognized Std Items. However we are looking to implement and start using PDM's Product Explorer along with the Options and Variants modules so what ever we do will have to work for those PDM modules. Also any insight on Bulk Items in ProE and how they interface with PDM Product Explorer or Options and Variants.
