How to change the content of an EPMDocument?

I was wondering if it is possible to switch CAD systems for an EPMDocument? If a design begins in the AutoCAD tool and then transitions to Creo, can the same EPMDocument be used? See the below picture for the example.

Not without database manipulation for data format and or on enrichment log in and look at epmdocument/master tables...you'll see the columns I am referring to.

@Patrick- I think the easiest way to reach (your goal - if I undestood well) should be to create another "new" EPMDocument (let say Creo one) and associate it to wtpart (with associeted link as "owner"). The "old" EMPDocument (ACAD model) can be associated to wtpart as "content" link type.

The result should be a wtpart that has both EPMDocuments associated.
