How to configure Owner role for a Workflow?

Promotion Requests out of the box have an "Owner" role that is the initial creator. What's really nice about this is that in the Members table, you can change the "Owner" in case someone else needs to take over future tasks that would have gotten assigned to the Creator.

We have other Workflows that use the Creator role in downstream tasks, but there's no way to change the Creator. At best, all we can do is reassign the individual tasks after they are created.

How can a Workflow be configured so that the Owner role shows up in the Members table and can be updated just like on a Promotion Request?

We think we figured this out. Apparently if you assign a task to the "Owner" role, it all works the way I hoped it would

Actually.. turns out it was a little more complex than that. Assigning the tasks to the Owner caused the workflow to reassign it to the object creator. We caught the error after implementing on a system that sent the "unresolved role" emails.

The fix was to assign the task to a specific role, and set up the workflow to assign the creator to that role.
