Hi @cgautier ,
as you probably already know, the challenges a Windchill administrator faces in licence management are many and complex.
Several query builder reports already exist in the user community, and also on the PTC support site, which can be used for the topic under discussion.
What is missing, and what we've ALL been asking for for years, is something that allows for timely monitoring of the use of licences, the users to whom they are assigned, etc.
For example, I already have a report that checks the number of monthly accesses to the system and that I need to understand if a user has been under-using the system for some time and therefore potentially can have his access taken away.
But there is no report to the contrary, i.e. one that can only extract the list of users who are NOT using the system and when was the last time they logged in.
But if a user logs into Windchill and has multiple licenses assigned (e.g., Advanced and Creo Data Management) there is no way to be able to tell if he uses both and how often.
In large companies, and with locations scattered around the world, how can those administering Windchill know if a user who used to be a CAD designer has changed job and therefore only needs the Base or Advanced license and instead no longer uses the one for CAD data management?
If Performance Advisor is enabled for Windchill, weekly or monthly the system collects this information and sends it to PTC, which then posts it on the customer's dashboard.
How is this information extracted and how can the user ID, written in the xml files of data sent to PTC, be linked to an individual (with first and last name) to verify who is accessing, what type of license they are using, and when they are doing so?
