How is Word loaded on your computer?
If using Office 365 on the cloud, you must download the file before opening it as there is no interface between Windchill and the cloud version of Office.
If a local or company install of Office, you can but you need to modify Windchill to recognize the Office file types that you are storing in Windchill so they will open.
Might be fixed now, but in earlier versions of Windchill, only the old file extensions were defined (.doc, .xls, etc.) and I had to modify WIndchill for the XML based document types (.docm, .xlsm, etc.).
