How to work with 2 alternates BOM in the BOM transformer?

Version: Windchill 12.1

Use Case: Would like to work an alternate BOM from another one in the BOM transformer

Description:

Hello,

Is it possible to filter the view in BOM transformer to see an alternate BOM on the left and another alternate in the right?
For example, I create a design BOM (without alternate).
Then from this BOM I create the design alternate BOM 001.
And from the design alternate BOM 001 I create the design alternate BOM 002.
I would like to work the design alternate BOM 002 from the design alternate BOM 001.
So how I can display the alternate BOM 001 on the left side of BOM transformer (and design alternate BOM 002 on the right side)?
With my filter I always see the original BOM on the left side (the BOM without alternate number)

Perhaps I have not used the features you speak of but can you include some screen shots. Are you using part instances to create your alternate BOMs? My assumption is that if you are transforming from Design to a downstream view like Manufacturing, it would be the original BOM. The instances would be seen as their own parts and have their own downstream path but I have not worked with instances too much.  This is a perfect case on a test server to play with.

Hi avillanueva,

In my instance of Windchill the alternates BOM are identified with letters whereas in the native configuration they are identified with number 001, 002.
So screenshot 1 & 2: I have the Original Design BOM, and create a downstream branch to create the design alternate A (=001)

screenshot 3: the Alternate BOM design A is created

screenshots 4 & 5: I create the alternate design BOM B (=002) from the alternate design BOM A (=001)

screenshot 6: the alternate design BOM B is created

The BOM B come from the BOM A, so I would like to work it (compare, modify, update...) in BOM transformer with the A & B visible. The BOM A on the left, and the B on the right. But I only manage to get the original BOM (without alternate number on the left side)

I would like something like in the photoshopped picture 7
