Hello group.
Yesterday PTC was visiting us to convince us not to switch to Intralink 8.0 (we are at 3.4) but instead switching to PDS. Everything I saw was pretty nice and PDS includes all the features Intralink 8 offers. But most of the users will be the designers and they donôt need all the project related information PDS would offer (at this point). For what I saw the biggest benefit for us would be the integrated viewing option (ProductView). As far as I know ProductView is not included in Intralink 8.
Maybe PDS would spread all over the company when project leaders and administrators would see how good the tool could help to administer projects (for example in relation to MS Project) - thatôs what PTC is hoping for - but I donôt know if it would be wise to start with the designers - giving them a peace of software thatôs way bigger as they need it at this point.
Hereôs my question: why did or will you decide to switch to Intralink 8 instead of PDS or PDMlink?
TIA, Rainer
