Intralink Migration -First Time seen this Error-

Hello All,

Can anyone think of a work-around to this issue?

Customer mismatched type in Intralink with Pro/E. They use type String in Pro/Engineer and Type Date Intralink 3.4. Everything worked fine in Intralink... (May be related to attribute PDM_DATE_FORMAT =%m/%d/%y PTC set when they moved from 3.2 to 3.4 back in 2004)

Now comes the Intralink Migration which works fine. Intralink Type Date maps to PDMLink Type Date. Even updates the vaules to Windchill Syntatx.

THE BIG ISSUE:

SO you download the ProE files and modifiy them. BUT you can not upload or check in Data because the Workgroup Manager/Event Manager states it can not Upload ... "type inconsistent" between string and date.

Best Workaround Thoughts so Far: (Will these work? Anything Better?)

1: Rename Attribute Type to New name: (Say Approved_Date becomes Legacy_Approved_Date)

2: Create new Approved_Date of type String.

(PTC Tech going to test this for me)

Second Work-Around is to do the Same Process but during the Intralink Migration...Approved_Date of type Date maps to Legacy_Approved_Date. Then after Migration (or before) make an Attribute called Approved_Date of type String.

Intralink 3.X Oracle Script to change Type? (Does it exist?)

Has anyone had to deal with this issue?
