Is it possible to move from Windchill to Intralink :)

Dear Windchill Upgrade/Migration and ProEngineer+WNC/ProI experts,

In the current setup Windchill is being used solely and predominantly for CAD data managment.

Key Windchill functionalities like- Workflow, Lifecycles and related actions such as Revise etc. are not being used and there are slim chances of them being used.

*QUESTION: In such a case- can there be a "migration" from Windchill8.0 to Pro-Intralink11 which is in a way "downgrade" PLM functionality wise

NB: Am aware that "upgrade" is for moving from lower Windchill/ProI version to a higher and "migration" is moving from one PLM tool to another

The main reason why we want to move to a higher version of PDM/PLM as we are a supplier and need to maintain all the versions of Pro/Engieer-Wildfire (i.e. 3,4 and 5) as well as Creo-1 and 2 and only Wildfire3&4 is supported for Windchill-8.

Windchill8.0M030 and Wildfire3,4&5 & Creo-1&2

Thanks,

Amol

When you say Windchill 8.0, I am assuming you are using Windchill PDMLink 8.0.

There is no upgrade path from Windchill/PDMLink to Windchill/Intralink. Too many differences in the database structures.

You can continue with Windchill/PDMLink just as you are today, only using it for CAD vaulting. You have already paid for it. Just turn off the change management modules of PDMLink.
